Speaking of smiles, here’s a little story to share on the Singapore $1 coin.
As many of you know,
Singaporeans have always been big believers of feng shui,
with many examples evident in its buildings,
landscaping, its mascot the Merlion, and its currency.
Recently someone pointed out that on the
Singapore $1 coin, besides the Pa-Kua shaped octagon,
there is a second feature some of you may have missed.
ထို စင္ကာပူ $1 ဝမ္းေဒၚလာပံုသည္ ေဒါင့္၈ေဒါင့္ပါရွိသည္ 八卦 ပါးကြ ပံုသ႑န္ျဖစ္သည္
၁၉၉၀ခုႏွစ္ဝမ္းေဒၚလာပံုသည္ ေျခေသၤပံုသည္ဝမ္းနည္းေနေသာပံုသ႑န္ျဖစ္ေနသည္။
၂၀၀၈ခုႏွစ္ ဝမ္းေဒၚလာပံုကိုတာ ကိုင္ေဆာင္ျခင္းျဖစ္ျပံဳးေပ်ာ္ရႊင္ျခင္းအရာရာေအာင္ျမင္ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္
မေလးရွားေဆာင္းပါးရွင္တေယာက္ေရးထားေသာ စင္ကာပူ $1 ေဆာင္းပါးတပုဒ္ျဖစ္သည္။
Take a look at the coins; in 1990, the banner on the coin curved down and this actually created a sad face. After the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, it is
said Minister Mentor Lee Kwan Yew consulted his feng shui master,
who gave him an immediate solution – to change the curve of the banner
on the coin turning upwards, to make the coin smile! This later coin shows
the new design, featuring a happy looking Singapore coin. Interesting
that something so unobtrusive can make such a difference
